    • 1 Hour Lecture​

    • 2 Hours Writing Workshop

HOW IT WORKS

  • Hour 1: Lecture on Pace & Style

    • How pace and style can be incorporated into your work for effect. How to control the speed at which someone reads your work, and how stylistic elements can impact the perception of your writing.​

  • Hour 2: Writing Exercise & Break

    • You'll work on a short piece of writing, putting to use the things you've just learned about the subject matter. And there'll be time for tea.​

  • Hour 3: Workshopping and Q&A

    • We'll break into splinter groups and actively workshop your work. I'll move around the room, and answer any questions you may have.​

WEDNESDAY LECTURE SERIES

THE WRITER-READER RELATIONSHIP

  • Wednesday April 22nd 2026

  • 2 Hours

    • 1 Hour Lecture​

    • 1 Hour Live Workshop

HOW IT WORKS

  • Hour 1: Lecture on the Write-Reader Relationship

    • We'll explore the intrinsic, unspoken contract between writer and reader, how to ensure you uphold your end, and how to reward a reader for their attention and keep them engaged.

  • Hour 2: Live Workshop

    • We'll ​look at an existing piece of writing and discuss how the author engages with the reader through narrative perspective, style, and a balance of exposition and action.
