HOW IT WORKS

  • Hour 1: Lecture on Control & Voice

    • We'll dig into narrative control and the deliberate application of voice to take command of your story and influence the way your readers experience your writing.

  • Hour 2: Live Workshop

    • We'll ​look at an existing piece of writing and discuss how the author applies control and voice, and then work on a short piece, putting into practice what we've learned.

SATURDAY WORKSHOP

PACE & STYLE

  • Saturday May 30th 2026

  • 3 Hours

    • 1 Hour Lecture​

    • 2 Hours Writing Workshop

HOW IT WORKS

  • Hour 1: Lecture on Pace & Style

    • How pace and style can be incorporated into your work for effect. How to control the speed at which someone reads your work, and how stylistic elements can impact the perception of your writing.​

  • Hour 2: Writing Exercise & Break

    • You'll work on a short piece of writing, putting to use the things you've just learned about the subject matter. And there'll be time for tea.​

  • Hour 3: Workshopping and Q&A

    • We'll break into splinter groups and actively workshop your work. I'll move around the room, and answer any questions you may have.​
