THE WORLD OF
SOLOMON CHURCH

Want to learn more about the exciting world of Solomon Church? From a timeline of missions and events to the weapons and gadgets featuring in the books, from the real-life conflicts and fictionalised locations, you can find it all right here.

WHO IS SOLOMON CHURCH?

Solomon Church was born in the early seventies to an Israeli father and British mother. They met while his mother was visiting Israel as a young woman, and quickly fell in love. Church's mother fell pregnant early on in their relationship, but the only problem was that Church's father, an Orthodox Christian priest, and children out of wedlock was not something an ever-dwindling faith in the country could stand.

Expelled from the priesthood, Church's parents moved to the UK, where his father took up a vicarage, forever ashamed by his weakness. Church was born soon after, a resented bastard by his father, marring their relationship forever. His parents married soon after, and his mother gave birth to Church's younger sister, Hannah. Nanna, as Church called her--and still does--is his guiding light. And despite him being older than her, she knows more than he ever will. And never gets tired of telling him.

Church's childhood was strict, his father pushing him torwards faith unrelentingly--the family business, he called it--straining their bond continually. At sixteen, he pushed back, telling his father he didn't want to be a priest, especially not to make up for his father's shame. After a terrible argument, Church was faced with an ultimatum: follow his father's orders, or leave his house.

With a written letter of consent from his mother--unbeknownst to his father--Church left to join the army, severing ties with his father, who disowned him entirely, forever. Church served in the British Army for twelve years, joining the Parachute Regiment at twenty-one, where he completed P Company and was assigned to 3 PARA. His first deployment was in Operation Palliser in Sierra Leone. At twenty-four, he transferred to 1 PARA, and served there until, at age twenty-eight, he was recommended for and passed SAS Selection.

Church joined 22 SAS, B Squardron in 1998, and the rest is history. Or, at least, the rest is told in the books...
